3/16/07 & 3/17/07 - Lake Georgetown, TX

Friday
We left the Lazy L&L campsite Friday morning and went to the San Marcos outlet stores to do some shopping. After visiting a Wal-Mart to stock up on provisions we headed north on I-35 towards our destination of Cedar Breaks Park on Lake Georgetown. It took us 2 hours to get from San Marcos to Georgetown, creeping along at about 3 miles per hour. When we finally got to the park there were very few campsires left. We found one that appeared to be isolated and set up camp. Then two families with a herd of children moved in behind us and proceeded to make loud noises until the we hours of the morning. That, plus the smell of campfire smoke permeating the atmosphere made sleeping difficult.

Saturday
We went on a hike and found some neat rocks with fossils. Went to the movies in Georgetown and saw "Wild Hogs". Carolyn cooked corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot for St. Patricks Day dinner.
